I couldn't wait to come home from work on friday to start working on clue 1, okay 1.5 inch strips in blacks and neutrals needed....non on hand, so the slicing ensued....but there were some neutral strings that were exactly the right width from Janel's (thank-you) baggie from the string swap and I was able to put some of Kendra's strings to use too.
A little basket of triangles all ready to sew, I put my brand new companion ruler to work.
It wasn't until sunday that I could do some chain piecing and also working an a couple of other projects (of course) and here is a long and varied chain...
secret window blocks are in there as well as crumby log cabins and I'm working on some 9patches for a backing too.

here's a bunch ready for ironing
Stacks of 10
SO I've cut about 300 of these sets (only ~150 to go) and sewn about 200 together. Looking forward to making some of the hour glass blocks tonight, wondering with my usual liberated approach whether they will be even close to the right size!

can't wait to see what your mystery turns out like
Great work on your mystery blocks. I loved your pictures showing the chain piecing draped over your balcony :)
Great start and I love how you have the chain draped on your railing. Very nice, almost like a picture story.
Looks like you have a great start and should be ready for the next step!
