Hurricane Irene interrferred with quilting

Just over a week ago, Stonington village was getting ready for Irene, there had been much hype..
so boats were being pulled out of the harbour

and crammed into parking lots, houses and stores were boarding up their windows.

We picked veggies and herbs from the garden to make pesto

and when the storm came it blew and blew and the sea was raging and we lost power almost immediately. Some streets were turned into canals

with no electricity DD #2 was reading by solar light.

and I was cooking on the propane grill outside

and utility trucks were traveling in convoys, I counted at least 15 in this one...

5 days later the power was ON! we were a lot better of than many others who were also without water.
